Graduate Medical Education
Mindful of the national shortage of primary care physicians and the expanding health care needs in Arkansas, the Baptist Health System (the largest private health care system in Arkansas) and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (the state’s only academic health sciences university) have partnered to create the Baptist Health – University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Education Program. BH-UAMS offers you medical training by university professors in a private, community-based hospital.
BH-UAMS faculty are a diverse group representing years of private practice, academic, and hospital experience. They are eager to mentor you through the education process as you learn and benefit from their medical wisdom.
The result of your time in the BH-UAMS residency program is that you graduate, confident in your knowledge and skills, and ready to boldly step into the next phase of your medical career. We also hope to nurture a love for Arkansas and its people that prompts you to practice within the state or region, especially as teaching faculty within the UAMS or Baptist Health systems.
