North Little Rock, Arkansas, is part of the central Arkansas metroplex, combined with Little Rock and Conway. This comprises a population of greater than 900,000. The Argenta Historic District is named after the city’s original name and has many interesting shops and restaurants. The Arkansas River Trail, Burns Park (one of the largest city parks in the nation, comprised of approximately 1,700 acres), and the Big Dam Bridge (longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the U.S.) are three areas in which you can enjoy the outdoors and participate in physical actives. The minor league baseball team, The Arkansas Travelers play at Dickey Stevens Park. Verizon Arena is the venue for many of the large name acts and entertainers that come to town. A tour of the USS Razorback, the submarine that was at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo, is a fun adventure in our down town maritime museum. We also have many hiking trails, bike trails, and lakes in the surrounding area.
Arkansas, known as the “Natural State,” is known for its mountains, rivers, lakes, and fertile plains. It is abundant in a variety of outdoor activities, and many of those are located close to our home here in North Little Rock. Petit Jean Mountain is minutes from our area and is a local attraction for hiking and biking.
Stuttgart is located an hour southeast of North Little Rock and is the premier waterfowl sporting location in the United States where hunters come from around the world. They host the world duck-calling contest. Arkansas boasts greater than two thousand listed lakes and reservoirs, with all variety of water sports and fishing within close proximity to any location. Arkansas has 52 state parks, 5 national parks, and 3 national forests as well as the first national river, the Buffalo river. Arkansas is known for its natural beauty, abundance of clear streams and lakes, as well as a variety of wildlife which we believe makes our state special and is an amazing benefit to our residents.
