The Baptist Health – University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (BH-UAMS) Transitional Year Residency Program is located on the Baptist Health North Little Rock campus. Our Program received initial accreditation from ACGME December 2020, and is sponsored by the Baptist Health – UAMS Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Our program is committed to training Transitional Year residents who need a broad-based clinical year before entering a specific specialty training program. We provide high quality individualized clinical training with an emphasis on wellness and experiential learning in patient safety and quality improvement. Our residency is committed to ensuring residents develop required skills and contribute to the community we serve.
Our Transitional Year Residents work closely alongside categorical residents in our Internal Medicine program. Our faculty have many years of experience in private practice, rural practice, academics, and administration. The faculty chosen have varied backgrounds in areas of primary care, as well as other specialties. We desire to offer our community, and the state of Arkansas, well-trained and well-rounded physicians who are committed to caring for patients of all needs. Our hope is to retain physicians in Arkansas after they have completed their residency and specialty training.
I am pleased you are considering Baptist Health-UAMS Transitional Year for your training. Thank you for your interest in our program! I look forward to receiving your application. You can learn more about us on our Instagram page.
